Nolan Julien ’18:
My name is Nolan Julien and I am a sophomore from Houston, Texas. I am part of the wonderful program Posse, I am an athlete, and also a Qcenter and Career Peer. I am involved in very diverse aspects of campus as well as affinity groups. So, I do a lot! But fulfilling this COPS head position is something that I truly value. In times of uncertainty and frustration, it is imperative that there is a voice that informs Campus Safety of what we need. As students on this campus, we all deserve equal treatment no matter what the circumstance, because that is our right as a Bryn Mawr student. I enjoy engaging in difficult situations because they push me further as a person to understand where someone is coming from. I believe that we are all intelligent smart human beings, we are at Bryn Mawr, and therefore there can be some level of understanding that we can reach. Communication is key in this position, and I feel that I have very strong communication skills. I have spoken publically many times to voice concerns and opinions, and I have absolutely no issue with doing that for each and every single student. I am a sophomore and I have personally had both negative and positive interactions with public safety. With an increase in transparency and understanding, I believe that we can all work together towards making this campus safe for all at any time of day. Vote for me so that we can work together towards one ultimate solution that will have a lasting impact on this campus.
Tali Laurence ’19 & Anushka Robinson ’19:
We decided to run for COPS head because we wanted to help facilitate a more a transparent, open relationship between students of Bryn Mawr Campus and the Campus Safety Department. Through the teas Tali and I will host, we hope that students will feel free to come and interact with the Campus Safety officers and bring any concerns to us. We hope to act as a liaison between the students and Campus Safety, to help facilitate communication and make a safer and more inclusive campus for all.
