I am running for the CPD representative because I want to better the relationship between undergraduates and the Career and Professional Development office. As the CPD rep I will better inform the community of the many benefits that the CPD can offer that will better their overall Bryn Mawr experience as well give them more confidence when going in the work force or applying to grad school.  The CPD is a vital resource at Bryn Mawr yet, intimidates many underclassmen. I plan to hold teas in dorms and events at the CPD to better inform the whole student body that the CPD is not a scary place and that even if they do not know their major or have never written a resume the CPD will provide support.  As the CPD rep I would also focus on making the career peers more accessible so that students who did not feel comfortable talking to a career counselor could talk to a trained student; I will also ask that the CPD train the career peers on how to better aid our community by teaching them how to help students who do not identify as cisgender apply for varying internships without worry as well as educating the Career Peers on application processes for international students. As the CPD representative I will focus on not only what the CPD wants from students but also what students want from the CPD.
