Lauren Buckheit

Hey Bryn Mawr!

My name is Lauren Buckheit and I would love to be your Senior Class President.  I feel confident in my ability to lead you through an incredible Senior year thanks to my various experiences.   During my time at Bryn Mawr I have served on the Appointments Committee, as a Customs Person, a Teaching Assistant, a Tour Guide and a Student Coordinator in the Career and Professional Development Office.  Beyond this, I was also chosen as the Student Representative on the committee to choose the position now held by Katie Krimmel. Next year, I am excited to be the HA on Radnor first.  I have also held jobs outside of Bryn Mawr that have helped me gain skills necessary to serve you well.

By working at a small nonprofit this past summer, I learned how to fundraise and solicit donations from people, many of whom were jaded.  Since our budget was quite small, these donations were necessary to ensuring that CeaseFirePA could continue to exist. Being a Customs Person on Pem East 1st-1st also gave me experience in managing a budget.  Additionally, I have gained experience in event planning from my time working for the Estee Lauder Companies where I help to coordinate events and activities for week long corporate retreats.  Finally, I have been lucky enough to help with an annual Nashville event that commemorates the work of Dr. Martin Luther King and other Civil Rights leaders.

Because of this I think I would do a fantastic job planning our much anticipated Senior Cocktails and Senior Week.  I have spoken with the Senior Class Presidents of 2013 and 2014 to ensure that we can make the most of our Senior Year.  I think part of what makes the Bryn Mawr community so incredible is how unique we are and I will do everything to make sure that we all have the opportunity to create ample memories and leave our mark! If you have any suggestions or concerns about our Senior Year and activities, feel free to email me at lbuckheit@brynmawr.edu or we can set up a time to talk in person.

Bryn Mawr Love,

Lauren

Class of 2015 Co-Class Presidents

  • Bring class together via fun senior cocktail nights and teas + senior week
  • Represent class of 2015 in SGA keep class informed
  • Experience 2012-2013

We are running for 2015 Class Presidents because we want to help make our classmate’s last year at Bryn Mawr as fun and memorable as possible. Senior year is an important year as the height and culmination of our time at Bryn Mawr, but it is also a very stressful year. Bryn Mawr has such a strong community and we know that the burdens and stresses of senior year can dampen their social connectivity. We will do everything in our power to prevent that from happening and make sure that senior year is truly the best year for our classmates by planning exciting and fun events for seniors, like Senior Cocktails and teas, which give them the opportunity to relax and enjoy their time together during their last months at Bryn Mawr.

We also want to keep our class informed on events going on in the school and we want to represent their ideas and voices in SGA. In order to do this we are very open and try to be as visible on campus as possible so that our classmates feel comfortable approaching us and sharing their experiences with us. It is also important to be unified as a class and uphold our leadership on campus by welcoming the Class of 2018 and maintaining our strong relationships with the Classes of 2016 and 2017. But, our highest priority is to continue to strengthen and preserve our relationships within our class as a support system for post-Bryn Mawr life.

We have experience representing the Class of 2015 and planning events as sophomore Co-Class Presidents in 2012-2013. We worked with the Traditions Mistresses and Hell Week Committee to organize events of hell week. We planned teas for the class and worked with our sister class Co-Presidents of 2013 to plan sister class teas to help bring together students from different classes. In addition to Co-Class Presidents, Marian was also a Member at Large for the fall of 2013 and worked with other Members at Large and the SGA Secretary on projects for the SGA Executive Board as well as represented the Bryn Mawr Community at large at SGA meetings. Makala was on the Conflict Resolution Committee for the fall of 2013 to develop the materials and on-campus role of the committee.

Together, we believe that we have the necessary experience and desire to make senior year at Bryn Mawr as enjoyable and memorable for each and every one of our fellow classmates.
